Our LEGACY , your STABILITY
Learn about the SN52 Land and Legacy Project, our mission to empower the Kashmere Gardens community, and our commitment to preserving generational wealth through secure homeownership.
SN52 Land & Legacy Project
The SN52 Land and Legacy Project was born from a critical need in Kashmere Gardens: addressing the increasing number of homes held as heirs’ property. These cherished family homes, passed down through generations without clear legal title, often face significant challenges. Unresolved ownership can block access to vital homestead exemptions, disaster assistance, insurance, and other protections crucial for maintaining property. Without intervention, families risk tax delinquency, foreclosure, and the heartbreaking loss of their generational homes.
This project is a community-based initiative led by the Earl Carl Institute at Texas Southern University’s Thurgood Marshall School of Law. In collaboration with the Rockwell Fund and JPMorgan Chase, and supported by a network of dedicated legal, housing, and community partners across Houston, the project was developed to address heirs’ property challenges in Kashmere Gardens.
